This witch is ready for Halloween. The last piece

This witch is ready for Halloween. The last piece of our family costume just arrived. But I have a very serious question.... will you be taking your kids trick or treating? And will you be opening your door to hand out candy?

I’m curious how this is going to work this year. My neighborhood is known for trick or treating... there’s always like 100 kids here for Halloween since it’s a dead end. It’s super safe to let the kids go. I was hoping to take Charlie (wearing a mask) to a few houses for the experience, but now I don’t even know if our neighbors will be handing out candy.

This makes me so sad. We were on our road trip last Halloween, so this was supposed to be her first real experience that she would enjoy. She did it when she was 1 but she didn’t really get it yet.

Charlie loves book and knows how to read, but she

Charlie loves book and knows how to read, but she doesn’t know how to hold a pencil. I’ve been trying to get her to sit down and practice tracing, but she never wants to. Until her new box of goodies arrived yesterday!

Like the rest of us, she likes to focus on what she’s good at, rather than what she struggles with, so I did a little research and found these grips that help children hold their pencil properly. I bought her a box full of new goodies (I spent $30 total on pencils, erasers, sharpeners, grips, a pencil case & a tracing book), in hopes that she would want to sit down and learn how to write. It worked!

She was so excited with her present that she instantly went to her table to try it all out. We sharpened her new pencils and attached the pencil grips. So far so good! She’s been holding her pencil properly and practicing in her tracing book.

Such a cool contraption that I just had to share it in case any of my mama friends are having the same issue with their kids. All of these items I bought are linked on my @liketoknow.it and I shared them on my stories.

Every morning after breakfast Charlie and I cuddle

Every morning after breakfast Charlie and I cuddle up in her rocking chair or on my bed and read a few books together. Reading time has always been her favorite time of the day, but she is even more excited for it these days because her new @epic4kids digital library subscription allows her to select a new book every single day. #sponsored

I’m so glad that she loves reading time because it’s more important than ever. This year she’s had to learn to keep her distance from people and avoid contact, but human contact is such an important part of a child’s development. Reading together is a great way to connect with our little ones.

Next summer we’re planning to do another big road trip that’ll be several months long. Traveling in a school bus conversion means you have limited space, so this is the perfect solution. When did my baby get so big?! 🥺 She barely fits in a toddler (it’s not like she sleeps in it, but if she wanted to she wouldn’t fit) and she just hit her head walking into her playhouse (on stories). She’s only 3, but she’s so tall.

Looks like we might have to ask Santa for a big girl bed this year. Maybe the big girl bed will inspire her to sleep in it. This toddler bed certainly didn’t work. 😂

This kid loves kinetic sand. At our house we set it up outside on a little table in our patio, but at my parents house kinetic sand on the living room floor is perfectly acceptable. 🙄

I’ve never been one to decorate my home much for

I’ve never been one to decorate my home much for the holidays (except for Christmas)... until I became a mom! Rather than going with proper Fall colors, I found Fall and Halloween decor that would match each space.

In Charlie’s room I wanted to stick to her pink and white look, so I found a light pink pumpkin, a pink Halloween pillow and a little white ghost stuffed animal that serves as a bookend on the shelving unit above the chair.

Just little details to bring some Halloween spirit to her room without having to change up everything or having the colors clash.

Another one of my favorite family costumes... I fe

Another one of my favorite family costumes... I fell in love with the little ghost dress on Etsy and just had to have it!

I went with standard Ghostbusters costumes for us... I know the Ghostbusters ghost is different but this one was just too cute. Such an easy costume for all of us.

Home today, but wishing we were at the beach.

I’m getting some work done on my computer while my hubby demo’s our bar area (lots of that on stories). I’m still unsure of what I’m going to do for the new bar area. I’ll be sharing some different options so you can help me decide.

Can’t believe it’s almost been a year already.

Can’t believe it’s almost been a year already. Last Halloween we were on the road so I figured our costumes should go with our lifestyle at the moment... the hippie family traveling around in a yellow school bus.

We were in New Orleans so I had originally planned to take Charlie out, but I didn’t anticipate it being 45 degrees that day. So instead we got a family photo while we froze and called it a night.
