My Greatest Adventure: Motherhood

After a year-long hiatus and a beautiful baby girl, I’m back!

Becoming a mother has truly been the greatest adventure of my life. So much has changed, but my desire to travel and see the world has only grown with my desire to share that experience with my daughter. Traveling will be a little slower paced than before, but we are ready to embark on new adventures as a family of 3.

There’s lots of updates coming to the blog soon. I have tons of trips I never got around to blogging and so many new adventures planned for the near future. However, I want to start with a quick photo diary of the road to motherhood.

Pregnancy Announcement:

After 10 years together, almost 5 years married and countless adventures around the world, we decided it was time to try for a baby. To his surprise, I got pregnant rather quickly.

Shit just got real - Super funny pregnancy announcement using my husband and the positive pregnancy test - my hubby passed out at the news

Gender Reveal:

Then it was time to find out the gender. We were both hoping for a baby girl. Our guests got to place their votes upon arrival…. NUTS or NO NUTS?

Funny Gender Reveal game - at the entrance everyone got to vote if the baby would have Nuts (using blue Peanut M&M's) or No Nuts (pink plain M&M's)

Pink fireworks shot in the air over the lake…. we were having a baby girl!

Then it was time for all the planning…. a couple of trips before I wasn’t allowed to fly anymore, designing the nursery (travel themed of course), and planning the baby shower.

Babymoon in Hawaii:

We spent a week and a half visiting 3 islands in Hawaii: Oahu, Maui & Kauai. Being pregnant obviously held me back a little, but there was no way I was missing out on all of the hikes.

First we visited Oahu and stayed at the Trump on Waikiki Beach (blogging about this soon, I promise!)

Next was Maui, which is just magical. We stayed at the Andaz and spent a day doing the Road to Hana. (More on this soon too.)

Last stop was Kauai, which is breathtaking!!!! We stayed at the St Regis in Princeville and the view from our room was just incredible. During our time in Kauai we did Waimea Canyon and a photography tour (already blogged about this… click here for more).

Baby Shower:

For my baby shower, the theme was “You Are My Greatest Adventure” and we planned a brunch at my parents home with vintage travel decor. It was truly perfect.
